The Power of Prayer

Friday's Reflection
James 5:16 — The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
James assures us that heartfelt, passionate prayer makes a difference. Prayer is not empty words but powerful intercession that moves the hand of God. The lives of Elijah and other prophets prove that one person praying earnestly can alter the course of nature, nations, and human hearts. God delights in answering prayers offered with sincerity and faith.
During the 1904 Welsh Revival, believers gathered nightly for fervent prayer. Within months, whole towns were transformed—bars closed, crime dropped, and churches overflowed. Historians record that even hardened criminals were converted as the Spirit moved in answer to prayer. Modern revivals in Korea, Africa, and South America echo this same truth: when God’s people pray fervently, heaven’s power is poured out, and entire communities feel the impact.
Prayer: Lord, ignite in me a spirit of fervent prayer. Let my heart burn with faith that moves mountains and intercedes for others with compassion. May my prayers rise before You with sincerity, and may Your power be revealed through every petition offered in righteousness. Amen.
