Sharing the Gospel

🎧 Listen to Today's Devotional

Saturday's Reflection

Romans 1:16 — For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.
This week we looked at what it means to share the gospel — not perfectly, but honestly. William Carey left a shoemaker's bench for forty-one years in India and asked, with his dying breath, that people speak not of him but of his Savior. Amy Carmichael spent fifty-five years rescuing children no one else would fight for, calling missionary life "simply a chance to die." And between them, the Scriptures showed us frightened disciples made bold by the Spirit, ordinary believers scattered by persecution who kept preaching anyway, and a Savior who promised to be with us always.
The thread is the same in every story: ordinary people, imperfect voices, real courage. You don't need to be a scholar or a preacher. You need only be willing to say, "This is what God has done for me." The power is not in your words but in the gospel itself — the strongest force there is for changing a human heart.
On this Sabbath, rest in that gospel. The work of spreading it belongs to the Spirit; your part is simply to be faithful and willing. Lay down the week's striving, and trust the One who does what only He can do in the hearts of those who hear.
"No other influence that can surround the human soul has such power as the influence of an unselfish life. The strongest argument in favor of the gospel is a loving and lovable Christian." (Ellen G. White, The Ministry of Healing, p. 470)
Prayer: Father, thank You for the gospel that changed us. This week, give us one person to share it with — and the courage to speak. Amen.
